My new bed and I are getting along swimmingly.
I am a fan of upholstered headboards, but honestly, the tufted type, which is so popular, kind of reminds me of a casket. I enjoy a nice, deep sleep, but those things kind of creep me out. I'm not ready to sleep quite that deeply--know what I mean? Anyway, my gel-infused memory foam mattress is everything I'd dreamed (no pun intended...well maybe so) it would be. It sleeps great and I'm loving my first week in a real bed in quite a while. I decided that the color of my bedding wasn't right, so I'm sending it back. I could have dealt with it, but I really want this bedroom to be perfect...for me. I found a color that looks like key lime cheesecake. It's really pretty. No really, it is.
So the snow is gone, and now it's raining. I bought these cobalt blue suede boots a few weeks ago, and really wanted to wear them today, but alas, pink rubber rain boots were what was called for:
And, tomorrow the painter is coming to finish the living room! Finally, I can place my furniture. I have high hopes for the weekend to be warm and clear enough to allow me to paint a few pieces. I really love to paint, in case you haven't figured that out. On the agenda is a pair of end tables, a night stand, a mirror and a purse. I know, I'm expecting a lot from myself, but there's going to be some kind of painting going on around here! All those visits to the "mistint" aisle at Home Depot can't go to waste. I typically just see what's there and if it's under ten bucks, it's mine. There's usually no specific project in mind, just the will to transform. We'll see how this shapes up. I'm excited!
